Project Management Plan

The project manager creates the project plan for project.

Purpose: To manage the project/ To execute project

  1. Project planning is most time-consuming project management activity.
  2. Continuous activity from initial concept through to system delivery. Plans must be regularly revised as new information becomes available.
  3. Various different types of plans (test plans, development plan, SQA Plan and SCM Plan) may be developed to support the main software project plan that is concerned with schedule and budget.

The project manager create the project management plan based on following input documents.

Entry Criteria to prepare PMP.

  • RFP
  • SOW or Work Order
  • Project Plan Guidelines
  • Project Plan Template

Exit Criteria for preparing PMP

  • Project Plan should be reviewed and approved.
  • Once PMP is approved, configuration controller will create baseline for PMP(PMP1.0v) and he will update same in configuration repository. (Fileserver or VSS)
